About this cookin’ momma

I’m a 27 year-old single mother to a wonderful(and sometimes crazy) two-year old boy. I live in a big house with my mother and 13 year-old autistic brother. My mother had osteoarthritis, and we live in this house together to help each other. She helps me raise my son, and I help her with things that she has a hard time doing herself. I help her run her business in which we deliver food from local restaurants to the soldiers on the Army base where we live. We also raise and breed Persian cats together. We love the breed, and we love pairing people with their furry soul mates.

I’ve started this blog as part of my self discovery process. Being a single mom who works from home, my son and my work has taken up a lot of my time and I gave up doing a lot of what I loved doing. I was happy to do that, because I love my son and I am dedicated to helping my mother’s business be successful. But I harmed my emotional being by giving a lot of what I love up. I became depressed, distant, and began to shut myself off from the rest of the world.

So I recently decided to take up cooking. I love to bake, but have never really tried to cook much. It all started when I began watching some cooking shows, and one day went to the grocery store, purchased some fun foods and spent some time in the kitchen. I discovered that I have a talent for cooking, and that I have a blast doing it. I also have discovered that I have a lot to say on parenting(being the mom of a toddler will do that to you!), and I want to share what I’ve learned. A lot of people see parenting and cooking as two different subjects. To me, they are one in the same. They both take love and patience, and sometimes you have to laugh a little to get through them.

Humor is an important thing to have in your life, no matter what you do in it. My sarcasm and funny nature is how I am learning to heal myself and grow. I hope you enjoy my jokes, recipes, and my take on parenting.

  1. Thanks for checking out my blog and my S’mores Banana Boats! I really appreciate your support and I hope you get a chance to recreate these for yourself as well. I would love if you stopped back again soon!

  2. I’m so glad you liked the banana bread! And also my sense of humor 🙂 I love making people laugh, and I love it even more now as a parent because my kid gives me a lot of good material!
